Hi there. My name is Arthur Mazi. My journey to Art Direction (and my journey in general) began in the noisy streets of Lagos, Nigeria. And noisy they were.

For as long as I can remember there’s always been music in my headphones. While studying computer science I discovered the power of Photoshop and began using it to create covers for the blank music albums that filled my iTunes library. Soon enough I was designing college party invitations and flyers. Word on the street was that without those flyers the parties would have been flops. 

After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics & Computer Science, I started my career in Advertising and worked as a Designer/Junior Art Director for Saatchi & Saatchi in Lagos. Five years later I felt that it was time to see the colors of another sky and broaden my horizon. So I left home and moved to Germany to study Art Direction at Miami Ad School Europe. Internships at BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, Chimney, whilst also working and living in Hamburg, Berlin and Tokyo helped with the horizon part. After graduating, I moved to Kiel to join Vosshallmarketing, an agency run by one of my former tutors. 

I’m a battle-tested scrabble champion and love to cook. There’s still music in my headphones as I strive to stay curious. I follow the kaizen philosophy – which is all about continuous progress and self-improvement – something I cherish dearly and daily.
